HEXBUG is the new nanny!

Hexbug's were introduced to our family at Christmas after Samuel, my 10 year old received them as a Christmas gift.

Since then all three of our children are fascinated by the vibrating creatures.  It's not often that one toy will entertain my 10 year old and my two toddlers, but nevertheless the Hexbug phenomenon has taken over the Marquick household.

It's even won over Mr Marquick, so much so that he recently went out and bought a few extras so that Oliver and Isabella have some Hexbug's of their own.

Samuel likes to build elaborate habitat for the Hexbug's to run around in.  Oliver likes to watch the Hexbug's go up and down slopes in the Hexbug Hive, and Isabella likes to pick the Hexbug's up and move them to another part of the habitat.  I'm sure she thinks they are real bugs.

They play with the Hexbug's for ages, mesmerised by their constant scuttling about.  It's becoming a life saver to keep the kids from bickering while I'm cooking dinner, or when I need to get on with a few jobs.

Given that Hexbug's need batteries, we now have a stash of bargain batteries ordered through Ebay in our kitchen cupboard.  I think all hell would break loose if suddenly we ran out of batteries.

Other than the two that tried to escape in the snow, yes, Hexbuy is the new nanny!

  1. I heard about these, wasn't sure if they'd be toddler friendly! We still have some money for H from Christmas and been trying to decide what to get him.
